Bad Case of Senioritis PDF Print E-mail

Oh man...Week 8 is coming to an end and I can't help but admit that I have a really really bad case of senioritis.  I never really experienced the "disorder" in high school so I was not expecting my senior year of college to be any different.  Oooooooh was a wrong.

Ever since I was a little kid, I was very self motivated and very focused when it came to school work.  I always tell my mom that she lucked out with me since she never had to worry about my grades dropping or anything like that.  But once I got to college I think I started to slip a little bit because I started counting down the days of my academic career.  Instead of pushing through like I always have, I've settled on getting by, which is not a good mind set to be in.

After almost 19 years of education, I feel like sometimes that final year really plays nasty tricks on a person.  All you can think about is what is out there in the "real world" and getting a job, especially in the current state of the economy.  The anxiety and stress can be overwhelming.  As a result, you just shut down.

I won't let this get the best of me though.  I just need to regroup and barrel through the next couple weeks and recharge over break.  I think the best way to overcome senioritis is to take a moment and come up with a game plan.  Also, not to sweat the small stuff.  Even though it is a stressful time, you have to have fun!  Being grumpy and tired is no way to spend your last year of college...

So wish me luck guys!  Hopefully I'll be back on track before winter quarter!
