The RIT Men’s Basketball team had a successful 2008-2009 campaign.  The Tigers won the Empire 8 conference championship which led them to their first NCAA appearance since 1999-2000.  RIT lost to Salem State in the 1^st round of the NCAA tournament; closing the season with an overall record of 19-9 and a conference record of 12-4.

The conference title is the 6^th title under Coach Bob McVean, who also recorded his 400^th victory as the RIT Men’s Basketball coach.  RIT forward Mark Carson was named the tournament’s most valuable player after recording 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 4 steals.  This was Carson’s 24^th double-double of the season.  He also moved into 7^th place in all-time scoring at RIT.  Carson led the league in rebounding with 14.1 boards per game.  He was 2^nd in conference scoring with 19.7 points per game.  Carson was named 1st Team All-Conference after receiving 2nd Team All-Conference honors last season.

wow i can't believe RIT already win record. i hope that i will join basketball team and then our will get team someday. i think that i will join RIT next fall
