I’d like to tell you some amusing anecdote about how I used to color all over my parents walls with Crayola crayons which would explain how I got to the place I’m in today. Unfortunately, I was a relatively well-behaved child who stuck to coloring in between the lines so I’m rather lacking in the story department.

I’m a first-year graphic design major from Clarksville, Maryland (halfway between Baltimore and Washington DC). I decided to come to RIT because what girl wouldn’t like a brick campus full of boys? Just kidding :) RIT just so happens to have a pretty amazing design department as well as lots and lots of SNOW!

i have a secret obsession with bricks...

it's actually because RIT has a pretty fantastic design department and it didn't snow enough in Maryland! i also was really interested in the full "college experience" while still being at a really good art school.
wraps
Jay's Diner
The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, Big Bang Theory
The Killers, Jimmy Eat World, Relient K, Jack Johnson
A Lot Like Love, Big Daddy, Forest Gump
on my bed, which sometimes results in unexpected naps.
ouch, no way.

Baby It's Cold Outside I'll be there! smilies/smiley.gif Isn't there one next Wednesday too? This thing never accepts my comments, I wonder if it's because i'm too lazy to log in.
The Joy of Sledgehammers I keep getting emails from HFH but I never actually read them-- perhaps I should! As for the question above, lots of RIT students volunteer. I know there are always posters and such around campus talking about what's going on. One of the coolest projects I was involved in was the PB Jam which was basically an entire morning of making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that were sent to homeless shelters. I happened to meet someone there that worked for an organization called Foodlink and I was actually able to go downtown one weekend and volunteer in their warehouse.
Spontaneity I'm going to try and grow mine out for another year because I'm afraid of making it too short! Plus the length keeps me warm when it's 4 degrees out like today smilies/smiley.gif Is the minimum for locks of love 10 inches?
RIT and Food Allergies Gracie's is pretty good with vegetarian options as well. I've, too, found that if I can't find something, just ask! I need to look into this dorm kitchen thing, I've heard there is one but I've never found it smilies/smiley.gif
Spontaneity I have Gina Ferrari for 2d smilies/smiley.gif Best 2d professor-- in my opinion. I'm kind of sad that graphic design majors only have to take 2d for 2 quarters.
Is There Anything to Do Around Here? the saturday game was so much better than the friday one, i always buy both tickets early in the week to make sure I can go smilies/smiley.gif
RIT and Food Allergies Me too!! I haven't gone there in a while though. I wish Gracie's had a salad bar like that, that'd be awesome.
Baby It's Cold Outside I'm logged in and my little picture still isn't showing up smilies/sad.gif Oh well. I like hte new comment system now though!
Spontaneity Yeah, it seems like a lot of people really liked her class. There are always former students coming in during critiques--which I fully intend on doing when I'm no longer in her class. I'm so glad that I switched classes during the first week.. best choice ever.
The Art of Layering Haha, nice video. It's totally true though, layering keeps you so warm even when it's -11. I walked up to Park Point this morning with a billion layers on and got so hot that I had to take half of them off smilies/smiley.gif
One more week. already bought tickets smilies/smiley.gif
The Unknown Dangers of Hockey Yay hockey! I was at the Women's game on Friday too... in fact if you look in the bottom right hand corner of your second picture... that's my roommates back haha. I have no idea how I figured that out. I'll be at the game on Friday too!
I'm ALWAYS Hungry There is also Mighty Taco in Buffalo if you're up for the drive =)
I'm ALWAYS Hungry You guys should all come down to Maryland and check out Chipotle if you haven't been there already!!! Best burrito place ever. In fact, I might just have to make an entire blog about that. They also have them in NYC and other places but not Rochester yet =(
I'm ALWAYS Hungry Perhaps you should come visit DC again!
RIT Men's Hockey Men's hockey lost last night =( I'm glad I went though, Blue Cross Arena is awesome (I'd never been there before) and it'll be interesting to see what NHL teams the u18 players end up on.. I read somewhere that one of them is going to be a first draft pick next season?? It's hard to believe that they're all a year or so younger than I am! With the additions to the AHA, does this mean the season will be longer?
Little Shop, Little Shop of Horrors me too! the show was great, i've had little shop songs stuck in my head all week smilies/smiley.gif
DIY: Surviving the end of the quarter i'm going to check out the dollar movie theater on saturday and see yes, man! and i think you meant 2/27/09 for the second to last hockey game smilies/smiley.gif i'm staying all the way through finals week until sunday just for the games!!! good suggestions smilies/smiley.gif
The Great Debate...RIT Style i agree about the split being bad, it's kind of annoying to almost have two quarters in one. it makes it super hard for art majors because the projects take between 2 and 3 weeks so it's an awkward period in between thanksgiving and winter. i personally really liked the long thanksgiving break, although one week would have been okay too. maybe we should get an extra week for spring break and go a week later into summer-- except that would mess up summer quarter.. so perhaps not. maybe we should just keep it the way it is! but i guess that the potential changes don't really matter for you because you're a senior! smilies/smiley.gif
I THINK I CAN.. I THINK I CAN!!!! to answer "future procrastinator of tomorrow's" question... with a little time management, no smilies/smiley.gif it's just like high school you have to find a balance.
